Design isn’t just what I do — it’s how
I
think and grow.

From NID Ahmedabad to UI/UX — my journey across disciplines, industries, and ideas.

About_page_image.png

Hello, I'm Jyoti.

"I think in systems, design for people, and find clarity in complexity."

Over 3+ years I've worked across product, enterprise, and government domains — building mission-critical dashboards, scalable design systems, and intuitive digital experiences that real people depend on daily.

My work goes beyond pixels. I shape strategy, research user needs, define information architecture, and collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders — because great design only works when the thinking behind it is just as considered as what appears on screen.

What I'm working on right now

I currently work at Raphe mPhibr, where I design Ground Control Station interfaces for drone systems along with visual systems for exhibitions and demonstrations.

These interfaces are not typical dashboards or apps. They are operational systems used to monitor, control, and interpret live data in real time. Designing for such environments has fundamentally changed how I think about UI/UX — every element on the screen must serve a purpose, every interaction must be predictable, and every piece of information must be understood instantly.

Because of the sensitive nature of this work, I’m unable to share project visuals publicly. However, this experience has deeply shaped my approach to design — strengthening my ability to work with complex information structures, high-attention use cases, and interfaces where clarity, hierarchy, and precision are absolutely critical.

Career Journey

Beginning with material and craft at NID, my path has steadily refined into designing digital systems that balance clarity, usability, and impact—shaped by a foundation in storytelling, hands-on exploration, and a constant drive to evolve as a designer.

2024

UI UX Designer

Raphe mPhibr | 2024 – Present

Design and optimize mission-critical HUD and GCS dashboards for advanced drone systems, improving usability in high-stakes defense environments. Built a cohesive design system for the Drone GCS design. Developed a suite of marketing/exhibition materials for international expos, contributing to an award-winning brand presence. Created interactive assets for demos and client pitches, making complex technologies clear and compelling.

2022

UI UX Designer

Plaxonic Technologies | 2022 - 2024

Designed responsive websites, dashboards, and apps across fintech, e-commerce, and public sector clients (Delhi Jal Board, Uttarakhand Government, US startups). Redesigned the company’s own website, established scalable design systems, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to maintain quality. Promoted to Designer II and mentored two interns, raising the bar for both visual and UX standards.

UI UX Designer Intern

HIE HQ | Feb 2022 - Aug 2022

Supported fintech and enterprise social platform projects with market research, benchmarking, persona interviews, and user journeys. Delivered high-fidelity UIs showcased on the company’s Dribbble portfolio, enhancing design visibility. Authored design blogs and actively contributed to UX discussions in a fast-paced agency setup.

2021

Product Design Intern | Graduation Project

ORVI Design Studio | Mar 2021 - Sept 2021

Researched and revived an ancient terracotta inlay technique for modern applications through material exploration and prototyping. Studied Jaipur architecture to derive motifs, integrating them into tile designs that reimagined tradition for contemporary spaces. Selected works were showcased at Design Dialogue 2022 (Udaipur).

2018

2017

Studio Apprenticeship

Studio Adipa | 2018

Studio Apprentice under renowned Ceramic Artist - Ruby Jhunjhunwala from Pune. Hands-on training in craft processes, material exploration, and design detailing. This early experience in craft-oriented design laid the foundation for a later shift to human-centered digital design.

Bachelor’s of Design (B.Des.)

National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad | 2017 - 2022

Graduated in Ceramic & Glass Design with a strong base in storytelling, materiality, and form. Transitioned into UI/UX during later years, combining a craft-driven approach with digital problem-solving, transitioned into UI/UX.

HOW I WORK

My Approach

01

Systems before screens

I map the structure, flows, and logic before touching the visual layer. Good IA is invisible — bad IA is unfixable.

02

Craft before code

Every pixel is a decision. I bring the same patience and precision I learned making physical things to every interface I design.

03

Clarity before aesthetics

Beautiful design that confuses is failed design. I design for understanding first — the beauty follows from the clarity.

Beyond Design

Outside of work, I observe, explore, and sketch — drawing inspiration from everyday patterns, textures, and visual rhythms.
