Foundations in Form & Craft

Four craft projects from NID that shaped how I observe, experiment, and design — lessons that live in every pixel I place today.

INTARSIO

Exploring form, pattern, and material logic through terracotta tile design

This degree project grounded my understanding of modular systems, repetition, and compositional thinking — principles I now apply while designing structured digital interfaces. Working with clay taught me that constraints aren't limitations — they're the foundation of good design.

NAQQASHI

Understanding patience, precision, and the rhythm of handmade systems

Documenting this 200-year-old metal engraving craft sharpened my eye for detail, consistency, and disciplined execution. The craftsmen who practice Naqqashi don't make mistakes — they can't afford to. That standard of care strongly influences how I approach UI systems today.

GRIH PRAVESHAM

Designing for emotion, memory, and personal narrative

This project reminded me that design is not only functional but deeply emotional — a perspective I carry into every digital experience I create. Grih Pravesham taught me to design for the person, not just the user.

MATERIAL PLAY

Learning through hands-on experimentation with materials

Continuous material play reinforces the curiosity, iteration, and making mindset that I bring to prototyping and interaction design. Before pixels, there was always a material — and that instinct to make, test, and refine never left.
